Publication Ethics

Journal of Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering (NMCE) is following of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and complies with the highest ethical standards in accordance with ethical laws. http://publicationethics.org
For all parties involved in the process of publishing a paper in the Journal of Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering (NMCE), it is necessary to agree and commit to the below-mentioned standards of expected ethical behavior.

All authors who submit a paper to NMCE are supposed to observe the international standards for authors voluntarily:
 

  • Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work. Plagiarism, Duplicate, Data Fabrication and Falsification, and Redundant Publications are forbidden.

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering will be screened for plagiarism using iThenticate plagiarism detection tools. The journal will immediately reject manuscripts leading to plagiarism or self-plagiarism. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking before submitting their manuscript to the journal.

  • Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published and is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere.
  • If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, the authors must ensure that the work and/or words of others are appropriately cited or quoted and identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscripts.
  • When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor to retract or correct the paper.

All authors are requested to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of beginning the submitted work that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, their work.

 


Copyright Notice:
Upon acceptance of the above paper for publication in Numerical Methods in Civil Engineering Journal, the corresponding author of the paper confirms that:
1. The author guarantees that the materials are original work, submitted only to NMCE, and have not been published previously.
2. Only people who have significantly contributed to the paper are listed as co-authors. All the named co-authors have agreed to submit the final version of the manuscript for publication.
3. Author retains copyright. All of the contents, figures, and tables of the paper are either original work or have obtained permission to re-use from the author.
4. Re-use all or part of the accepted or published articles are allowable without any restrictions if a proper citation of the original article is given, as stated by the Attribution Creative Commons BY License [CC BY].

Author retains copyright

License of copyright to all users to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt the work, provided the author is attributed and the use is non-commercial, ie not ‘primarily intended for or directed towards commercial advantage or private monetary compensation

 


Editors and Editorial Board are required to follow the international standards for Editorial Board:

  • They must keep information pertaining to all submitted manuscripts confidential.
  • They are responsible for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts.
  • They must strive to meet the needs of readers and authors.
  • They must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content.
  • They must strive to constantly improve their journals.
  • They must maintain the integrity of the academic record.
  • They must disclose any conflicts of interest and preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards.
  • They must always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.

 

Reviewers are also expected to meet the international standards for reviewers when they accept review invitations:

  • Reviewers must keep information pertaining to the manuscript confidential.
  • Reviewers must bring to the attention of the Editor in Chief any information that may be a reason to reject the publication of a manuscript.
  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content.
  • Reviewers must objectively evaluate the manuscripts based only on their originality, significance, and relevance to the domains of the journal.
  • Reviewers must notify the Editor in Chief of any conflicts of interest.
